The Clinical Office Assistant program provides training for an
entry-level career as a member of the health care team and
emphasizes back-office clinical skills.

The health information technology (HIT) program provides students
with a foundation in managing health care data and information
resources. Students receive training in planning, collecting,
aggregating, analyzing, and disseminating individual patient and
aggregate clinical hospital data.
Graduates may seek entry-level employment in:
- Physician's offices
- Clinics
- Laboratories
- Hospitals
- Group practices
- Specialty practices
- Health insurance offices
- Nursing homes
When initial accreditation is awarded by the Commission on
Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management
Education (CAHIIM), graduates who were enrolled in the HIT
program at the time the qualified candidacy application was
submitted will be eligible to apply to take the American Health
Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certification
Examination for Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT),
according to the AHIMA Council on Certification eligibility
criteria.
