The aesthetics skincare program provides students training in the
traditional holistic approach to skincare and includes additional
training in the areas of make up and color analysis, mask and spa
therapies, hair removal, enzyme treatments, pressure points
massage, body wrapping, microdermabrasion and hot stone
treatments. Graduates from the program will demonstrate a basic
and advanced understanding of the structure and function of the
skin and how to apply skin care treatments through the effective
utilization of product and equipment protocols. The Aesthetics
Skincare Diploma prepares students for registration in the state
of Florida as a registered facial specialist and certification in
body wrapping.

The medical therapeutic massage program combines training in
massage therapy and knowledge and training in medical office
procedures, documentation, the assessment and treatment of sports
related injuries and massage interventions. The program is
designed to prepare graduates to perform duel roles in the allied
health and spa industry as a massage therapist. The medical
therapeutic massage program provides training in therapeutic
massage with knowledge of structure and function of the human
body. Students receive training in massage therapy procedures and
techniques, allied modalities, hydrotherapy, law and ethics, the
prevention of medical errors, assessment, medical office
procedures, documentation, sports massage and current trends in
the spa industry.
The general education courses prepare graduates with advanced
decision making skills as related to massage therapy and skin
care. The program prepares students for the Florida State Board
examination for licensure for massage therapists in the state of
Florida. The licensed graduate is qualified for entry-level
employment as a licensed massage therapist and may be employed in
a medical facility, health spa, day spa or as an independent
contractor. The graduate can demonstrate communication and
employability skills and can apply professional and appropriate
ethics to all areas of the job. The medical therapeutic program
consists of 101 quarter credit hours and 1200 contact hours of
instruction and clinic practice. An Associate of Science degree
is awarded to a student upon successful completion of all

and respected part of the allied health and spa industries. The
Therapeutic Massage program at Daytona College provides training
in therapeutic massage with knowledge of the structure and
function of the human body. Students receive training in allied
modalities, hydrotherapy, law and ethics and the prevention of
medical errors.
The program prepares students for the Florida State Board
examination for licensure. The licensed graduate is qualified for
entry-level employment as a licensed massage therapist. The
licensed massage therapist may work in a day spa, health spa,
chiropractic office or other medical facility offering massage
therapy. The graduate can demonstrate communication and

consists of a 56.5 quarter credit hours and 720 contact hours of
instruction and clinic practice. A diploma is awarded to a
