Everest Institute in Houston, Texas, was formed in January 2000
to meet the expanding needs of the local market. The
Houston-Greenspoint campus is one of three campuses in the
Houston metropolitan area. The Houston locations are branch
campuses of Everest Institute in San Antonio, Texas. The
Houston-Greenspoint campus has spacious modern buildings
containing lecture rooms, PC labs, medical labs, and student
lounges.

Dental assisting students learn fundamental knowledge of office
procedures, dental anatomy and physiology, terminology, dental
materials, dental specialties, nutrition, preventive dentistry,
chair-side assisting, clinical experience and practice,
radiography instrumentation and equipment, sterilization,
bacteriology, pathology, pharmacology, and laboratory
demonstration/practice. Dental Assistants perform a variety of
patient care, office, and laboratory duties. They work chair-side
as dentists examine and treat patients. They make patients as
comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for
treatment and obtain dental records.

The Medical Administrative Assistant program provides you with
the skills necessary to manage the day-to-day operations of a
medical facility. You will receive education that emphasizes the
administrative and business aspects of overseeing a medical or
dental office. The administrative, business and communication
courses will provide you with a well-rounded background to meet
the needs of today's ever-changing medical industry. You will
gain valuable skills, enabling you to become a vital link between
patient and doctor.

The medical assisting program prepares graduates for entry-level
work as both clinical and administrative assistants to doctors in
offices and clinics. Graduates will gain thorough knowledge of
anatomy, basic clinical and laboratory tasks, and administrative
duties. The College offers both a certificate and diploma medical
assisting program. Courses in these programs include:
Musculoskeletal and Nervous Systems, which is the study of
anatomy, physiology, diseases, and examination and investigation
procedures of the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems;
Hematology and Microbiology studies structure, composition and
function of the blood, as well as blood diseases; and Pulmonary
and Cardiovascular Systems, which teaches structure and function
of the respiratory cardiovascular system, diseases and
investigation procedures, EKG equipment, physiology and basic
interpretation of arrhythmias.
